Microsoft Excel Charts Accessibility: An Affordable and Effective Solution

This paper describes an effort to make Microsoft Excel Chartsline, pie, bar/column, radar, scatteraccessible using NVDA screen reader. This solution fetches chart informationaxis, axis title, series, trend line, chart title, chart area, plot area, legend, legend entry, legend keyusing Excel Native APIs and presents the information for each element type as separate navigable object. User study results validate the usability of this solution.
